Applying to the Program
Compensation/Benefits: $40,000 stipend, health insurance, malpractice insurance and 10 days paid time off.
Entry Requirements:
- Application to the fellowship programs will be accepted throughout the year
- Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited Physician Assistant Program
- Must provide PA program transcripts
- Must hold a minimum of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university
- Must submit three letters of recommendation
- If employed, one letter must be from a current supervising physician. New graduates must provide at least one letter of recommendation from their program director or a clinical faculty member.
- Must have passed or be eligible to take the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants Examination and provide test scores
- Must provide a current curriculum vitae
- Must obtain an Illinois license prior to the program start date
- Must provide Basic Life Support certification
- Possess a strong desire to pursue continued education in the specific subspecialty
Credentials Awarded:
At the end of the twelve month fellowship the physician assistant will receive a certificate documenting completion of a one-year, post-graduate fellowship in the specific subspecialty of training.

Applicants are selected based on their academic achievement, interpersonal skills and ongoing interest in the specific subspecialty. Top applicants will be invited to Rockford, Illinois, for a formal interview.
