PA Fellowship Program Description

Physician Assistant Fellowhip Program

The fellowship program offered by the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford is a 12-month didactic and clinical training program with a negotiable start date. It will provide the graduate physician assistant with an opportunity to obtain advanced training in the select subspecialties of orthopedics, cardiovascular medicine and endocrinology. These programs are in partnership with physician group practices within the Rockford community.

Cardiovascular Medicine Fellowship: University of Illinois College of Medicine - Chicago Campus
 
Urology Fellowship: Rockford Urological Associates, Ltd.
 
Nephrology Fellowship: Rockford Nephrology Associates, Inc.
 
Didactic Curriculum: The didactic component of the curriculum consists of lectures offered through the medical school and multidisciplinary conferences and coursework offered through the clinical site of the medical group practice.
 
Clinical Curriculum: The didactic portion of the curriculum is reinforced by hands-on training in a variety of settings, including multidisciplinary clinics, hospital patient care units, the emergency room and the operating room. Trainees will become an integral part of the health care team, be supervised by a senior physician assistant and physician and gain the confidence and skills required to become successful in the specific subspecialty of training.
