Embrace Tomorrow – Capital Campaign for the College of Medicine

The University of Illinois is in a unique position to create a regional health sciences center on the Rockford campus that will be one of the first of its kind in the country, bringing medicine and pharmacy students together into an interdisciplinary program. With this goal, the University has embarked on a $26.25 million effort to renovate the existing facilities at the College of Medicine at Rockford, and construct a new 58,000 square foot expansion onto the Parkview campus. This expansion will create a home for the new regional campus for University of Illinois College of Pharmacy and establish a home for the National Center for Rural Health Professions.

Of the total costs, the University has committed $14.25 million, and a federal request has been made for $5 million, of which half has already been secured. With more than 50 percent of the funding in place, we have embarked on a $7 million capital campaign to raise the remaining funds needed to create this state-of-the-art facility central to the plan to become a true leader in academic healthcare.
