Embrace Tomorrow – Capital Campaign for the College of Medicine
The University of Illinois has created a regional health sciences center on the Rockford campus that is one of the first of its kind in the country, bringing medicine and pharmacy students together into an interdisciplinary program. With this expansion, the University has embarked on a $26.25 million effort which included renovation of the existing facilities at the College of Medicine at Rockford, and construction of a new 58,000 square foot expansion onto the Parkview campus. This expansion created a home for the new regional campus for University of Illinois College of Pharmacy and established a home for the National Center for Rural Health Professions.
Of the total costs, the University committed $14.25 million, and a federal request has been made for $5 million, of which half has already been secured. Our capital campaign to raise the remaining funds needed to create this state-of-the-art facility continues.
