6th Annual Baby Goods Drive
The 6th Annual Baby Goods Drive at the University of Illinois College of Medicine is underway and will continuethrough Friday, May 6.
Crusader Clinic physicians delivered 1,013 infants in 2010, which accounts for approximately 25 percent of all babies born in Winnebago County that year. This event helps to collect goods that will be put into infant care packages that are distributed by physicians on mother’s first follow-up visit after the birth of their baby. Our goal is to help provide new mothers at Crusader Clinic with basic items for infant care, while also creating an incentive to seek follow-up care for their newborn.
Donations of baby goods will be accepted at collection sites in the area. Specific items that are requested are: blankets, onesies, socks, bottles, diapers, lotions, shampoo, diaper rash ointment and sleepers. We will also gladly accept any other new baby goods that are donated. At the end of the event, all donated items will be collected by volunteers and brought to Crusader Clinic.
This year's collection bins can be found at the following locations: The University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford Campus by both the main entrance and the event entrance, Women and Children's Health Center, University Primary Care Clinics in Belvidere and Mount Morris, the YMCA Pennock branch in Rockford and the YMCA branch in Loves Park, and Valley Produce on North Alpine Road in Loves Park.
If you have questions or would like to contribute a cash donation, please contact Mandy Bischel at mbisch2@uic.edu or (530) 613.6695.
