Admissions

As part of the largest public medical institution in the country, the College of Medicine at Rockford provides exceptional medical training for students during their M2 through M4 years. The College has received national acclaim for its exceptional programs, including Rural Medical Education (RMED), Urban Health (UHP), and Doctor of Medicine, Master of Public Health (MD/MPH).

How to Apply
Students interested in our programs must apply through the College of Medicine at Chicago, and indicate their preference to study at the Rockford campus. After admission, M1 students spend their first year at the Urbana-Champaign campus for their basic science and laboratory classes, then transfer to the College of Medicine at Rockford for their remaining three years of medical training.

Important Dates
Applications become available in April and must be filed by December 1 of the year preceding enrollment. All applications for admissions are accepted by the American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS).
