Ways to Give to the Medical Evaluation Response Initiative Team (MERIT)
You can support the MERIT Program’s work in helping abused and neglected children in a variety of ways, including:
New Orleans Casino Night Fundraiser
The University of Illinois College of Medicine Rockford will host a New Orleans Casino Night Fundraiser on Saturday, September 23, 2017, from 7 to 11 p.m. that will benefit its Medical Evaluation Response Initiative Team (MERIT). The event will be held at the UIC Health Sciences Campus at 1601 Parkview Ave.
MERIT is a program of the College of Medicine Rockford that provides children suspected of experiencing physical abuse, sexual abuse or neglect with timely expert medical evaluations and treatment. In addition, MERIT serves the community as a resource for child abuse prevention, research and education.
A portion of each $125 ticket will go directly to support the MERIT program. Attendees will receive casino chips that will enable them to play a variety of casino games, including blackjack, poker, craps and roulette for entertainment purposes only – they can’t win real money, but they can’t lose either. New Orleans-themed food stations, Dixieland music from the award-winning Basin Street Boys and a large silent auction will also be featured at the event. Bid on silent auction items now through the end of the event online at https://galabid.com/auction/comrcasinonight2017.

Medical Evaluation Response Initiative Team (MERIT) Program Fund
The Medical Evaluation Response Initiative Team (MERIT) Program Fund provides unrestricted support and allows us to continue our mission on behalf of abused and neglected children in Northern Illinois. Because government grants do not typically cover all of the costs of providing the services these children need, gifts to the MERIT Program Fund help us to provide multiple evaluations, treatment and advocacy services to children suspected of being abused or neglected.
Give now to the Medical Evaluation Response Initiative Team (MERIT) fund through the College of Medicine Rockford giving page.
Amazon Wish List
The MERIT Amazon Wish List is a great way to directly help the children that we serve. Through the newly established Amazon.com wish list, individuals can select and purchase items from the Amazon Wish List. These items will be delivered to MERIT and distributed directly to the children and families that need our support most.
