Salary/Benefits


Resident stipends for the academic year of 2016-2017 are as follows:

  • R1 $53,000
  • R2 $55,000
  • R3 $57,000
  • Chief Resident $59,000

Outside employment is permissible with the consent of the program director. Presently, there is ample opportunity for third-year residents to moonlight in local emergency rooms and after-hours clinics. Residents must first obtain an Illinois permanent license. Second and third year residents can moonlight with the optional opportunities of the curriculum where there is direct supervision.
