Dr. Polizzotto joined the Rockford Family Medicine Residency program after completing 11 years of active duty with the United States Navy Medical Corps. He taught in the family medicine residency program at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton in California for four years, where he was twice selected by the residents as FP Staff Teacher of the Year. Dr. Polizzotto graduated from the University of Vermont College of Medicine in 1994 and completed his residency in family medicine at Camp Pendleton in 1999. Dr. Polizzotto is responsible for the clinical teaching in the Family Health Center, inpatient family medicine service and surgery rotations. His professional interests include residency education, diabetes care and clinical quality improvement. He is the lead physician at implementing the EHR.
