Karen Liao, M.D., recently joined the UI Health L.P. Johnson Family Health Center, 1221 E. State St., as an attending physician. Dr. Liao has practiced at the L.P. Johnson Family Health Center for three years as she completed her residency through the University of Illinois College of Medicine Rockford’s Family Medicine Residency Program. She was chief resident during her residency and is now board-certified in family medicine.
Dr. Liao will continue to see her established patients and is accepting new patients. She will also be helping to train resident physicians as a University of Illinois College of Medicine Rockford clinical assistant professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine.
Dr. Liao earned her doctor of medicine degree at Poznan University of Medical Sciences in Poland and a bachelor of science degree in medical imaging and radiological science from Chung Shan Medical University in Taiwan. She’s had additional medical training in Canada, Taiwan and at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.
“I provide care to patients of all ages and in all stages of life with the goal of helping them be healthy, stay healthy and live healthy,” says Dr. Liao.
