The health care community is invited to attend the Health Equity Summit, which will focus on immigrant and refugee health needs. Evelyn Figueroa, director of community engagement and a professor in the UICOM Chicago Department of Family and Community Medicine, will be the keynote speaker.
Participant Learning Objectives:
- Describe healthcare and social needs prevalent in various refugee and immigrant populations.
- Identify unique aspects of the provision of healthcare to refugees and immigrant groups.
- Utilize strategies for implementing culturally sensitive medical care to refugees and immigrant groups.
- Identify individual and system level advocacy to support refugee and immigrant communities.
