Writing Accountability Groups can provide support and accountability that will increase writing productivity in groups of academic researchers on campus.
The Office of Research invites UICOMR faculty, staff and students to join the Writing Accountability Group. WAGs are an evidence-based method to improve writing productivity and decrease writing-induced anxiety. WAG can be used to help postdocs/faculty commit to setting aside time for various scholarly activities that support manuscript writing or grant writing.
Kristine Zimmerman, PhD, MPH, will lead the WAG for individuals working on publications. Dr. Zimmerman is an assistant professor (RT) in the Division of Health Research and Evaluation with the Department of Family and Community Medicine. She has over 15 years of experience in research and evaluation in the health sciences. This event will be co-hosted by Mathew Mathew Thoppil, PhD, director of Faculty Research in the Office of Research and professor (RT), Cedric W. Blazer Endowed Professor of Biomedical Sciences in the Department of Biomedical Sciences and Mareeswari Paramasivan, PhD, postdoctoral research associate in the Department of Biomedical Sciences.
Remember that this meeting takes place every Friday, 10:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Attendees are welcome to join for the full 90 minutes or just part of the time.
