Dr. Webb receives UIC teaching award

TJ Webb, MD, a teaching assistant professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine and director of the Doctoring and Clinical Skills Course at the University of Illinois College of Medicine Rockford, will receive a 2025-26 UIC Teaching Recognition Award and will be recognized at a ceremony in March 2026.

This faculty-administered teaching award program recognizes documented teaching excellence over the past three academic years. Out of the 67 eligible applications this cycle, each was evaluated based on several criteria, including the reflective teaching statement, peer reviews, course materials, student mentoring, curriculum development and implementation of impactful and innovative teaching practices. Dr. Webb’s teaching portfolio stood out as particularly impressive according to the committee.

“This is a remarkable peer recognition of the effort and dedication that Dr. Webb has ascribed to the education of our medical students and residents,” says Joseph Garry, MD, head of the Department of Family and Community Medicine.
