Noel Pycior receives UIC Award of Merit
Noel M. Pycior MS, APRN, FNP-B, director of Student Health and Wellness, took home the University of Illinois Chicago Award of Merit during the annual UIC Employee Recognition Award Ceremony in Chicago on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2025.
The award is an accolade given annually to recognize outstanding civil service and academic professional employees. It’s a university-wide award honoring staff who exhibit excellence in service, commitment and dedication.
Pycior is also a family nurse practitioner, providing comprehensive medical care for UIC Rockford students in Student Health and Wellness. She specializes in health promotion services, and she diagnoses and manages acute and chronic illnesses while providing individualized care. She serves roughly 400 medical, nursing, pharmacy and Master of Science in Medical Biotechnology Program students for a variety of health care, mental health, wellness and compliance needs.
Pycior received her undergraduate degree from Saint Anthony College of Nursing, in Rockford. She also has a master’s degree in public health nursing and she’s a graduate of the family nurse practitioner program, both from the University of Illinois Chicago. She’s also an American Nurses Credentialing Center board certified family nurse practitioner.
“Noel is committed to helping students, whether it is navigating health insurance complexities, becoming more resilient, managing an illness or bettering their health so they, in turn, can become better healthcare providers,” Dean Alex Stagnaro-Green, MD, MHPE, MHA, says in his nomination letter. “Her enthusiasm spills over to her team, and she has become a respected leader, caring provider and valued team member. For these reasons, I believe she is more than deserving of the UIC Award of Merit.”
Pycior is the first UIC Award of Merit recipient from UIC Rockford since Carrie Foust, director of communications, who won the award in 2023.
