Stephanie Calato selected for AAMC committee
Stephanie Calato, MS, LCPC, assistant dean for student affairs, will serve on the Association of American Medical Colleges’ (AAMC) Learner Access, Support, Opportunity and Retention Group Student Advising, Support and Records (SASR) Committee. This inaugural committee serves as a national advisory body that’s focused on issues affecting medical students throughout the educational continuum.
Her national leadership role with AAMC begins on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, and runs through Friday, June 30, 2028.
In her role, Calato will stay informed about national issues related to student affairs, advising, student support services and student records. She’ll also collaborate with AAMC staff on committee projects and initiatives and she’ll serve as a representative of UICOM while advancing the work of the broader medical education community.
Calato is also the executive secretary/treasurer of the Central Group on Student Affairs (CGSA), which provides guidance and support for AAMC. She organizes meetings, informs CGSA constituents about upcoming conferences, workshops and events, creates newsletters with updates for the central group and provides travel scholarships for conference attendees.
