IFMR is a competitive fourth-year medical school experience offering exceptional preparation for a family medicine residency and career.

Selected participants will engage in:
- A longitudinal ambulatory clinic experience at the Mile Square Health Center–L.P. Johnson Rockford
- Mentorship with a UICOMR faculty member and resident
- A required rotation in obstetrics and family medicine at UW Health SwedishAmerican Hospital, which may include a sub-internship
Selected IFMR students will receive a financial award and, upon successful participation, be ranked to match by the UICOMR Family Medicine Residency Program.
