Madhurima Vardhan, PhD, is a computational biomedical scientist specializing in artificial intelligence-driven, high- performance computing (HPC) applications for biomedicine. She won the Student Design and Research Award at the Annual Biomedical-Engineering Society Meeting in 2018. Dr. Vardhan was awarded the American Heart Association Predoctoral Fellowship in 2019 for her work on massively parallel cardiovascular simulations. She is also the recipient of the ACM-IEEE CS George Michael Memorial HPC Fellowship in 2020 for her dissertation work. She further received the Aleane Webber Dissertation Fellowship from the Duke Graduate School in 2021. She previously worked with Google Research, in the AI and Health Group and developed empathetic large language models. She was awarded the highly prestigious Margaret Butler Fellowship from the Argonne National Laboratory in 2022 and currently works on solving biomedical and healthcare challenges using HPC and AI.
