Students, staff, faculty and the community are invited to hear some health tips and then take a walk along the recreation path at the at Headquarters Forest Preserve at 5500 Northrock Drive, Rockford, IL 61103. Meet at administration building.
One and one-quarter (1.25) mile walk: Paved loop through the prairie and around quarry pond, an additional grass loop along the river and floodplain forest. Easy walk with small inclines. Leashed dogs welcome.
Home of Forest Preserves of Winnebago County administration. Paved trail connecting to Sinnissippi Recreation Trail and loops a quarry pond. Restored prairie, wetland area and floodplain forest provides encounters a variety of birds, insects and wildlife.
UW Health SAH doctor-led walking group will be led by Thomas Schiller, MD, UW Health physician and clinical assistant professor at the UICOMR.
