Film and Exhibit Feature WWI Women Physicians
The University of Illinois College of Medicine Rockford’s chapter of the American Medical Women’s Association and the Crawford Library of the Health Sciences-Rockford will host a free exhibit and film screening.
“At Home and Over There: American Women Physicians in World War I,” a short, documentary film will be shown on Wednesday, November 14, at 6:30 p.m. in the Janet A. Kjellstrom Medicine Classroom at the UIC Health Sciences Campus-Rockford, 1601 Parkview Ave. This 15-minute film highlights the contributions of women physicians in World War I. A discussion will follow the screening.
The Crawford Library of the Health Sciences-Rockford on the campus will host an exhibit of photographs on loan from the American Medical Women’s Association related to women physicians in World War I November 5-26 during regular library hours: 7:30 a.m.-9 p.m., Mon.-Thurs.; 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Fri.; and 10 a.m.-9 p.m., Sat. and Sun. (Closed November 22 and 23 for Thanksgiving).
