Congratulations, 2018 Master of Science in Medical Biotechnology Grads!
Chike Osude was selected to be the student speaker by the class and he urged his classmates to “Never forget where you come from, never forget who you are and never forget where you want to go.” Osude also received an Outstanding Service Award and the Thermo Fisher Scientific Achievement Award.
The largest class in the Master of Science in Medical Biotechnology Program’s history graduated on December 1, 2018, with 36 graduates.
The graduates heard from Dr. Alex Stagnaro-Green, Dean of the College of Medicine Rockford; Dr. Ramaswamy Kalyanasundaram, Head of the Department of Biomedical Sciences; Dr. Karen Colley, Dean of the UIC Graduate College; and Dr. Khalifah Sidik, Director of the Master of Science in Medical Biotechnology Program. The keynote speaker was Dr. Vijayasaradhi Setaluri, a professor in the Department of Dermatology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health.

Since the University of Illinois College of Medicine Rockford started the Master of Science in Medical Biotechnology Program in 2007, a total of 145 students have graduated from the program.
