The Class of 2021 has the distinction of being the first class to start medical school in Rockford and complete all four years in Rockford. Little did these trailblazers know when they arrived in Rockford as M1s, they would be on a path that would lead them through many other firsts as medical students as the college and the world adjusted to life during the COVID-19 pandemic. Through the challenges of the last four years, this class has emerged as a resilient group of tomorrow’s best physicians who will be ready to take on the medical needs of the future. University of Illinois College of Medicine Rockford Convocation Ceremony
A hybrid ceremony for all UICOMR MD degree candidates will be held Saturday, May 1, 2021. Medical students in the class of 2021 will take part in a hooding ceremony at the UIC Health Sciences Campus-Rockford. No guests other than the students and the invited speakers are allowed to participate in the live ceremony; however, everyone is welcome to watch the livestream of the event.

University of Illinois College of Medicine 139th Commencement Ceremony
A ceremony for all degree candidates for MD, MS, PhD, and MD/PhD from all College of Medicine campuses will be held virtually.
