The University of Illinois College of Medicine and College of Pharmacy Rockford is accepting participants with Type 2 diabetes and an A1c level over 7% to participate in a research study of Text for Education and Management (TEAM).

Participants in Winnebago, Boone, Ogle and Stephenson counties who are 18 and older can receive text message support and reminders designed to improve blood sugar levels and support diabetes self-management.

Sign up by March 1 and a member of the research team will schedule an intake appointment. Participants will receive six months of texts and then a follow-up appointment. Full participation takes about five to 10 minutes per week and participants can opt out at any time.
