The American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy will honor James T. Frakes, MD, MS, MASGE, a UICOMR clinical professor emeritus of medicine, for being a trailblazer in GI practice management with two lectures presented in his name at the national GI Outlook 2022 Conference in Arlington, Virginia, August 13 and 14.
Dr. Frakes is a past president of ASGE and was a managing partner of Rockford Gastroenterology Associates, Ltd., for more than 20 years before his retirement.
The 2022 Dr. James Frakes Lecture will build on his legacy of strong leadership by providing attendees of GI Outlook 2022 with in-depth training in leadership and management. This year’s lectures include:
• The Art of Being a Great Boss
• Choosing Balance and Leadership
“These lectures are timeless and timely,” says Bret T. Petersen, MD, MASGE, president of ASGE. “Even in retirement, Dr. Frakes’ leadership and mentorship have been impactful.”
