Family Medicine Residency Program Names Chief Residents for 2026 academic year

The University of Illinois College of Medicine Rockford Family Medicine Residency Program announces the selection of Sarthak Kulshreshtha, MD, and Reilly Wojciehowski, MD, as co-chief residents for the upcoming academic year.
Kulshreshtha and Wojciehowski are both resident physicians who are in their second year of the residency program and they see patients at the UI Health L.P. Johnson Family Health Center, 1221 State St. As chief residents, they will be involved in administrative duties such as scheduling residents and teaching resident physicians and medical students.
Kulshreshtha, a St. George’s University School of Medicine graduate with a focus on inpatient medicine, is committed to improving the residency experience by promoting resident wellness, fostering a supportive environment and enhancing academic excellence. His efforts aim to cultivate a positive work ethos and a more balanced training experience for all residents.
Wojciehowski is a graduate of the University of Illinois College of Medicine Rockford and plans to continue practicing full scope family medicine, with a special interest in outpatient and inpatient family medicine.
Both are working towards improving the program for residents and students, while continuing to create a healthy workplace that fosters growth. Reilly and Sarthak are incredibly excited to get started!
The Family Medicine Residency Program has eight first-, second- and third-year resident physicians for a total of 24 in the Rockford-based program. In addition, the first-year residents in the college’s Dixon Rural Training Track work with the Rockford program for much of their training.
All of these resident physicians gain clinical experience in family medicine under the supervision of attending physicians who are faculty of the University of Illinois College of Medicine Rockford.
