MERIT social worker to speak at annual Educators’ Summit Heading link
Elizabeth “Liz” Kroening, MSW, LCSW, a licensed clinical social worker with the Medical Evaluation Response Initiative Team (MERIT), will present Breaking the Silence: The Educators’ Role in Supporting Children Impacted by Domestic Violence during the 7thannual Educators’ Summit on Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2024.
Kroening’s presentation is intended to teach educators how to recognize signs of domestic violence exposure in children and understand the impact it has on a child’s physical, emotional and psychological well-being.
The Educators’ Summit is a two-day training designed to teach educators and youth-serving professionals about the knowledge and tools needed to support youth exposed to trauma.
Kroening’s position with MERIT is funded by a grant from the Winnebago County Community Mental Health Board that is funded with the half-cent sales tax voted on by county residents.
