MLK Jr. Scholarship Recipients
COM-UHP students are Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship Recipients
On Friday January 22, 2016, Ijeoma Agu and Sarah Bunch were recognized as scholarship recipients at the annual UIC Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr Scholarship Awards Luncheon in Chicago. Twenty-five undergraduate, graduate, and professional students were recognized at the luncheon. Five professional students were awarded scholarships, including Ijeoma and Sarah, who are both College of Medicine-Urban Health Program (COM-UHP) students. In attendance at the luncheon to celebrate their accomplishment were UICOM-Rockford staff members - Melissa Harrell Robinson, COM-UHP Assistant Director of Student Development; Helen Gulley, COM-UHP Outreach and Recruitment Coordinator, and Natalia Suarez, Hispanic Health Educator with National Center for Rural Health Professions and the Hispanic Center of Excellence. We are very proud of their achievement!
