First-year UICOMR medical student Hunter Eide will serve a two-year term on the National Rural Health Association’s (NRHA) Government Affairs Committee (GAC) as a student representative. Eide is in the Rural Medical Education Program.

The GAC works with NRHA staff to develop legislative and regulatory policy positions and advance advocacy priorities. The committee develops and implements policies and strategies to ensure the association’s priorities are fully addressed and communicated.

“I’m thankful to Dr. Hana Hinkle for recommending me for this position and I look forward to working on issues that affect rural health across the nation,” Eide says.
