SHIELD COVID-19 Community Testing Site moves off campus

The SHIELD Illinois community testing site for COVID-19 is no longer operating at the UIC Health Sciences Campus-Rockford.

The site has relocated to Providence Baptist Church, 2209 Clifton Ave., in Rockford. Most of the current community testing site employees have moved to the new site.

The Clifton Ave. site opened Monday. Hours at the Clifton Ave. site are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursdays.

Students, staff and faculty on campus will still be able to get free saliva testing through a self-service operation in the Commons. Watch for further instructions.

Students, staff and faculty may enter through the South Entrance that was previously restricted to patients entering the COVID-19 community testing center by using their key cards before 5 p.m. on weekdays. It can also be used as an exit.

Continue to enter through the Main Entrance after 5 p.m. on weekdays and all day on weekends and sign in and out with the security guard.
