Stephanie Williams named senior director of student affairs

Stephanie Williams, MS, is the new senior director of student affairs at the University of Illinois College of Medicine Rockford.

In her new role, Williams, the former director of student affairs-academic skills, will help to lead the day-to-day operations of academics, financial literacy and career advising.

“In this new role, I’ll continue to have the honor to work with students for academic support and learning strategies,” Williams says. “This role will work closely with college-wide leadership in strategic planning and assessment initiatives to enhance our student advising resources on the Rockford campus. I truly enjoy working with all the amazing students, faculty and staff throughout UICOMR and I’m excited for this new opportunity.”

Williams joined UICOMR in 2016 and has 15 years of experience working in higher education. She holds a master’s degree in higher education leadership and administration and she has certification in appreciative advising.

“Stephanie brings years of experience and dedication to her new role and she has a real passion for helping our medical students reach their full potential,” says Stephanie Calato, MS, assistant dean for student affairs. “This promotion is recognizing the great work that she’s done and we’re excited to have Stephanie take on this new leadership role.”

The position is an expansion to the Office of Student Affairs, as they continue to grow their team and strategic initiatives. In January, the Office of Student Affairs also welcomed Jason Goode, EdD, as director of student affairs-career services.
