SwedishAmerican Department of OB/Gyn Receives Distinguished Community Award
The University of Illinois College of Medicine Rockford presented a 2021 Distinguished Community Award to the SwedishAmerican Hospital Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology during its April 28 virtual awards ceremony.
This Distinguished Community Award is presented each year to a nominee who demonstrates outstanding organization and leadership qualities in committee service, administration, health care and medical education at the college, university or national level.
The physicians of the SwedishAmerican OB/GYN department have a long history of service not only to the community, but also the College of Medicine Rockford and its Department of Family and Community Medicine and Family Medicine Residency Program. Their department has worked collaboratively to enhance the training of medical students and residents and to ensure a comprehensive scope of both obstetrical and gynecological care in our region. Most exemplary has been the work completed in the past year to enhance the scope of training for family medicine residents.
“Because of their dedication to the health of our community and tremendous support and contribution to the College of Medicine Rockford, it is my pleasure to present to the SwedishAmerican Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology this year’s Distinguished Community Award,” says Alex Stagnaro-Green, MD, regional dean of the College of Medicine Rockford.
