Two University of Illinois College of Medicine Rockford faculty members recently received emeritus status from the University of Illinois Board of Trustees. Emeritus status is granted to those professors who have shown extraordinary service to the university for a number of years and recognizes
Dr. Geri Fox
that they will continue to be valued members of the college into their retirement.
Geraldine “Geri” S. Fox, MD, is now Professor Emerita of Clinical Psychiatry. She continues to serve as chair of the UICOMR Department of Psychiatry.
Michael Glasser, PhD, is now Research Professor Emeritus of Family and Community Medicine. Glasser retired in 2021 after 43 years of service at UICOMR.

- Samuel K. Appavu, MD, Professor Emeritus of Surgery and Surgical Specialties
- Ronald Burmeister, MD, Clinical Associate Professor Emeritus of Obstetrics and Gynecology
- James Frakes, MD, Clinical Professor Emeritus in the Department of Medicine and Medical Specialties
- Roger Greenlaw, MD, Clinical Professor Emeritus in the Department of Medicine and Medical Specialties
- Martin Lipsky, MD, Professor Emeritus of Family and Community Medicine
- Richard Novak, MD, Professor Emeritus of Pathology
- Neil Nusbaum, MD, Professor Emeritus of Family and Community Medicine
- Gary Rifkin, MD, Professor Emeritus of Medicine and Medical Specialties
- Thomas Root, MD, Associate Professor Emeritus of Medicine and Medical Specialties
- John W. Seidlin, MD, Clinical Associate Professor Emeritus of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
