YWCA recognizes women of achievement

Alesia Hawkins Jones, PhD, accepted the 2025 Racial Justice Award from the YWCA Northwestern Illinois at their annual Women of Achievement Awards and Leader Luncheon on Monday, March 3, 2025.
Alesia Hawkins Jones, PhD, received the 2025 Racial Justice Award from the YWCA Northwestern Illinois at their annual Leader Luncheon: Women of Achievement Event on March 3, 2025. This award recognizes those who demonstrate an outstanding commitment to promoting racial justice and are working toward the elimination of racism.
Dr. Jones is a UICOMR assistant dean for diversity and inclusion; an associate professor and director of behavioral science in the Department of Family and Community Medicine; and chair of the Committee on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, which brings together students, staff, faculty and community members to create an inclusive environment for everyone. She’s also a licensed clinical psychologist practicing at the Mile Square Health Center-L.P. Johnson Rockford focusing on patients affected by trauma, including violence and racial trauma.
