About

Dr. Zimmermann has a doctoral degree in public health sciences. She has over 15 years of experience in research and evaluation in the health sciences, and often collaborates with federal, state, and local agencies in the implementation of research. The primary focus of Dr. Zimmermann’s research focuses on chronic disease risk reduction in women through evidence-based health promotion strategies. She is particularly interested in dissemination and implementation science; women’s health; rural health; and wellness promotion in individuals, communities, and health systems.

Interests

Dr. Zimmermann is a mixed-methods public health researcher who is primary interested in the dissemination and implementation of evidence-based practice in community settings. Her work has a particular focus on cardiovascular risk reduction, promotion of healthy behaviors, rural health, women’s health, and technology-based interventions.
