Dr. Zhan received his Bachelor of Medicine degree from Shanghai Medical University, Ph.D. in Population Health Sciences with a concentration in Epidemiology from the University of Wisconsin at Madison, and postdoctoral training at Yale University.
Dr. Zhan joined UICCOMR in August 2022, after he served as a statistician at Connecticut Department of Children and Families for nearly a decade, where he conducted research and program evaluation and served as the principal investigator of the first statewide Foster Home Quality and Satisfaction Survey. Dr. Zhan’s main research interests include the prevention of several public health problems (e.g., child maltreatment, substance abuse, HIV/AIDS, and hearing impairment), behavioral health interventions and research methods and survey analysis.
