The first class of medical students arrived on campus in 1972 and graduated in 1975.
In 1972, 20 medical students and 10 family medicine residents arrived on the campus of the former Rockford Tuberculosis Sanitarium on Parkview Avenue in Rockford.
It was then that the University of Illinois College of Medicine Rockford began a legacy of education, research and service that has had local, statewide and global impact.
