College of Medicine Rockford Celebrates 50 Years
Welcome to 2022 and the 50th Anniversary of the College of Medicine Rockford!
In the fall of 1972, the first University of Illinois medical students arrived in Rockford at a newly created medical school. They had spent their first year of medical school in Urbana and during that time the new administration and faculty of what was then the Rockford School of Medicine prepared for their arrival.
Join us throughout 2022 as we celebrate 50 years of community-based medical education in Rockford and save the date for what we hope will be an in-person reunion and celebration on Saturday, October 1, 2022!
50,000 Step Challenge in January
The Campus FUN Committee is kicking off the new year and the 50th Anniversary Celebration with a fitness activity that's timely for a lot of people's resolutions.
Activity: Plan to do a 50,000 step challenge for the week of January 10-January 16, 2022. Participants can track their daily steps using a iPhone, Fitbit, or other electronic device and then submit their daily step count here. All steps will be totaled and winners announced the week of 1/17/22.
Prizes: All those that complete the 50,000 step challenge will win a window cling and will be entered into a drawing for a UIC pom pom hat.
