Residency Programs Graduate New Family Physicians

Ten new family physicians recently graduated from University of Illinois College of Medicine Rockford’s three residency programs.

The University of Illinois College of Medicine Rockford Family Medicine Residency Program graduated seven physicians from the Rockford program. This is the 46th class of family physicians to graduate from the program.

The Rockford residency class of 2018 includes:

Zena Alyashae, MD

Medha Chunduru, MD

Marsha Dunkley, MD

Karen Liao, MD

Johnathan Luis Martins, MD

Saud A. Siddiqui, MD

Jithinraj Edakkanambeth Varayil, MD

The Rockford Family Medicine Residency Program is located at the UI Health L.P. Johnson Family Health Center, 1221 E. State Street. The three-year residency program allows resident physicians to gain experience in family medicine under the direction of attending physicians who are faculty of the College of Medicine.

The University of Illinois College of Medicine Rockford’s Dixon Rural Training Track graduated two physicians. This is the 12th class of family physicians to graduate from the program.

The Dixon Rural Training Track residency class of 2018 includes:

The physicians in this residency program train their first year primarily in Rockford and the next two years in Dixon working at the affiliated KSB Hospital.

The University of Illinois College of Medicine Rockford’s Monroe Clinic Family Medicine Residency Program graduated its first physician.

The Monroe Family Medicine Residency Program class of 2018 includes Serene Antoinette Bethune, DO.

The physicians in this program train their first year in Rockford and the next two years in Monroe, Wis., working at the affiliated Monroe Clinic sponsored by SSM Health.
