Rural Medical Education to Benefit from Riverboat-Themed Fundraiser

Riverboat Royale

The University of Illinois College of Medicine-Rockford will host Riverboat Royale at the Rockford Country Club, 2500 Oxford St., on Friday, Sept. 21, from 7 to 11 p.m. This event featuring table games, food stations, music and a silent auction will benefit the Rural Medical Education Program Fund.

The college’s National Center for Rural Health Professions employs a “grow-your-own” model of recruiting and training medical students from rural Illinois who then return to underserved rural Illinois communities to practice. The Rural Medical Education Program Fund supports the greatest areas of need for this program, such as faculty development, education and community-based research of the Rural Medical Education Program (RMED).

Tickets are $125 per person and can be ordered online at go.uic.edu/RiverboatRoyale. For more information about attending the event or sponsorship opportunities, call (815) 395-5649.
