Providing the best possible care to our patients, while teaching the next generation of doctors, is at the heart of all the patient care facilities operated by the University of Illinois College of Medicine Rockford. These include:
The University of Illinois College of Medicine Rockford operates the L.P. Johnson Family Health Center, a unique family practice that is home to our Family Medicine Residency Program. Focused on preventive medicine and health care for the whole family, this health center is located at 1221 State Street in Rockford.
The UI Health Thyroid Disease in Pregnancy Clinic at the 1601 Parkview Ave. site in Rockford is a specialty clinic for pregnant women with thyroid conditions.
The Medical Evaluation Response Initiative Team (MERIT) is a child-centered, community-based program dedicated to providing all children suspected of physical abuse, sexual abuse or neglect with timely expert medical evaluations and treatment, and serves the community as a resource for prevention, research and education. Located at 2300 N. Rockton Ave. in Rockford, this program receives referrals from the Department of Family and Community Services, law enforcement and physicians in northwest Illinois.
We accept most insurance and have strong affiliations with our local health care partners: SwedishAmerican: A Division of UW Health, Mercyhealth and OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center.
In addition to our College of Medicine Rockford facilities, many hospitals, clinics, treatment centers, hospices and other health care facilities in the Rockford area serve as teaching sites. Many doctors in the area are on our faculty and train medical students and residents in their practices throughout Rockford and around the state.
