PFLAG Rockford (Parents, Families and Friends of LGBTQIA+ Individuals) – The US’s first and largest organization uniting families and allies with people who are Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or queer (LGBTQ). PFLAG envisions a world where diversity is celebrated and all people are respected, valued, and affirmed inclusive of their sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression. Our mission is to build on a foundation of loving families united with LGBTQ people and allies who support one another, and to educate ourselves and our communities to speak up as advocates until all hearts and minds respect, value and affirm LGBTQ people. The Rockford chapter meets the 1st Monday of the month at 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm at The Liam Foundation. The chapter holds additional meetings and events besides scheduled monthly meetings.

Spectrum of Rockford LGBT Counseling Program – Spectrum of Rockford L.G.B.T. Counseling is a program of the Harmony Center for Holistic Psychotherapy. Spectrum was founded in 2008 by Dr. Breisch and a team of L.G.B.T. counselors. It was created to provide counseling and resource services to the L.G.B.T. community due to a lack of social support services in the Rockford, IL area. Spectrum of Rockford L.G.B.T. Counseling Program’s Center is a safe place for those who identify as Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Pansexual, Transgender, Gender Diverse, Non-Binary, Genderqueer, or Intersex. We also welcome those who are questioning their sexual orientation and/or gender identity. We also love and support the straight and cis-gender people who support the L.G.B.T.I.Q.A. community. We provide supportive counseling services by clinicians who specialize in L.G.B.T.I.Q.A. issues. Some of our clinicians and staff are also members of the L.G.B.T.Q.I.A. community, too. We provide therapy services such as individual therapy, child/teen therapy, couples therapy, family therapy, and group therapy. Additionally, we provide psychological evaluations for our gender diverse community who are having gender confirmation surgery and need letters of approval. Find the program on Facebook.
