Academic Skills Services

The director of academic skills in the Office of Student Affairs at the University of Illinois College of Medicine Rockford is focused on ensuring the academic success of all UICOMR students.

The office is dedicated to serving a diverse population of students through a variety of services including:

  • Learning Strategies
  • USMLE preparation
  • Peer Educators

Learning Strategies

The director of academic services supports all students who are looking for strategies in time management, organization, test-taking skills, and/or anything related to academic success.

Students can set up an appointment to receive assistance in creating a study plan, discuss their learning and test-taking strategies, or figure out how to manage different tasks to reduce stress.

Our Road to Residency Program also offers presentations on different learning strategies and tips for academic success in medical school.
